Erica obtained her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University in San Diego, California. She has worked with a diverse population of children and their families experiencing a wide variety of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, and trauma in community mental health non-profit organizations, residential settings, intensive outpatient clinics, and school-based settings. She has also worked with adolescents, adults (including couples and families) with co-occurring conditions with mental health and in recovery from substance use disorders and other addictions such as eating disorders, shopping, and gambling.

 

Erica embodies a true passion for working with children (including adolescents), young adults, and adults to find their own purpose and meaning in life, to help them overcome their depression, reduce their worries, fears, and anxieties, to process and start the healing process from their individualized traumas, and to provide a safe and accepting space for all individuals to build on their unique strengths and supports to reach their desired goals in treatment. She has a genuine authentic nature providing compassion and empathy getting to know each client as a human being and uses a modality tailored to fit and meet each client’s specific needs.

 

Erica’s therapy experience (majority in San Diego, CA) includes individual, couples, family, and group therapy. She has worked in non-profits serving San Diego county, residential facilities, mental health, substance use, and eating disorder intensive outpatient clinics, and in group private practice. She has worked with the underserved and underprivileged children, adolescents, adults, individuals with severe mental illness, and female and male court mandated clients that were on probation or parole. She has also done case management to call and coordinate with the pharmacy for client's medications, link clients to community resources such as access to board and care, local DMV for clients driver’s license, social security office, Department of Rehabilitation, access to metro public transportation, recovery NA/AA meetings/services and other support groups. 

Erica begins everyday by attending the gym for a workout class. She also enjoys listening to all types of music, watching television shows, going to see art exhibits, karaoke, and coastal hiking.
